Something to make you smile

We walked past this café on Sunday coming back to Café Duende.  You can pay Euros 2 to go in and have a drink or coffee and some time playing with the cats.  We thought we might go there during the week.

It seems that they don't like Trump much either.

How about this for a chalet by the sea-side.  It also look empty.

I think they were making a point about the building!

I am amazed that this is still standing.

They do a lot of propping up facades of buildings in the hope they will be renovated in the future.

Valencia street sized car, and an original as well

They are very proud to be Valencians.

It's Sunday again

It's Sunday again and we are back at Cathedral Square with beautiful dresses and lovely dancing.

Sunday evening we back to Café Duende to hear and see some spectacular flamenco.  He was a big lad, but bye gum he could play that guitar and the two dancers were amazing.  Slightly different take on the dancing which is nice to see, but you do wonder how their ankles cope.

These were taken with my mobile and not very good.  Will take my other camera next time.

Monday was a Bank Holiday and except for restaurants, the shops all closed.  It is the day of the patron saint of Valencia, St Vincente, and in Plaza Reina there was a procession from the Cathedral to his church.

More Ironwork

A little bit of this and a little bit of that

Unfortunately me and my esposo have been a little crook for a few days, and could not venture out too far!  Instead we have been rediscovering the back streets of Valencia, and pottering up and down the Turia.  The weather has been glorious and keeps pushing us outside.  More wall art, knobs and knockers and street scenes

What Spaniards like to do very much on a Sunday - sit around drinking coffee.  What a nice life!

Newly painted mural.

One of the oldest Bridges across The Turia - it's a pond under it, not a river.

A little renovation required

I love the dog!

Another gorgeous building

Back to School this week

A whole week has flown past.  We found a Spanish school and have done four lessons with Sal so far.  He is pushing us, which is good, and tonight we are going along to a conversation group in a craft beer bar.  That should improve the Spanish no end!

The churches here are amazing, but some of them so dilapidated, it must cost a fortune for them to keep them.  Others have been turned into art and exhibition spaces, and some into offices.

This is copying a famous Chilean street artist, whose name I can remember.  A very similar style.

A bijou little residence, just ripe for renovation.

Lovely door knockers

It's Sunday

It's Sunday and the dancing competitions have begun again in Cathedral Square.  Every Sunday different Barrios compete.  The overall winners takes part in Las Fallas in March.

Sorry you will get very bored in the end with these pictures.

On our wanderings today we came across a renovated monastery which is now a space for contemporary art.  It had some really weird exhibitions on but  was just wonderful and really quiet area to be.

Not very clear, but some 15th century graffiti recently uncovered.

Went to the market to stock up of Dates and Fruit.  Something to make you dribble.

Yvonne and Roger

Yvonne and Roger came to stay again this year and we had a great time, lots of good company and explored new things.  As they had been the y...
